Leadership Matters

A geography teacher, head of year and head of department, Andy went on to become a headteacher in east London for thirteen years. In the last year of headship, his school was judged outstanding in all categories and Andy was designated a National Leader of Education. In 2009 he become a Director at the National College for School Leadership, leading on the London Challenge programme. He was subsequently responsible for setting up the government's flagship Teaching Schools programme before being appointed as Managing Director at United Learning, one of the country’s largest academy groups.

In 2014 Andy founded Leadership Matters, an organisation that aims to improve the educational outcomes for pupils by working alongside educational leaders at all levels through executive coaching, team development programmes, training and online tools. Andy combines this with a part-time role as Dean of the Leadership Faculty at Teaching Leaders.

Andy was invited to become a Fellow of the RSA in 2015.  He has also been a Board member for various organisations including the Teacher Training Agency, the National College for School Leadership and Partnerships for Schools. He is currently a Trustee for the Teacher Development Trust and the Teaching Awards.

He has written four books:

 Alan Littlefield

Complete Coherence

Alan is a gifted facilitator who has coached extensively in the public and private sectors for more than fifteen years. He leads the development of the practitioner team at Complete Coherence. 


Alan started his career in the insurance industry where he discovered a talent for developing others’ customer service skills. He went on to an HR role in the public sector in 2000 where he successfully delivered several high profile programmes to develop leadership capability. Alan then joined a global HR solutions provider in 2006, where he led and delivered a variety of leadership development projects for client organisations. This included facilitating strategy development with executive teams and developing coaching capability in a global retailer.

Track Record

Alan started coaching early in 2004 and since then he has coached hundreds of managers and leaders. His coaching and facilitation experience extends across a broad range of industries including retail, financial services (insurance and banking), professional services (consulting, HR and IT), pharmaceuticals, transport, engineering, manufacturing and the public sector. He has coached internationally working with leaders in Europe, Asia and North America. Alan has partnered with clients to build leadership academies that combine the best thinking with core practices to drive leadership and management capability.


Alan is accredited with the International Coach Federation as an Associate Certified Coach and completed a Psychology of Coaching Certificate with the Academy of Executive Coaching in 2011. He graduated with a BSc in Zoology from Nottingham University and an MSc in Water Pollution Control from Westminster University.

 Ceri Stokes

Ceri is a member of our practitioner team and is dedicated to helping clients define what makes the greatest difference in the shortest time in order to deliver their commercial objectives. 


Ceri started her career at a Times Fast track 100 company in the retail sector. She was quickly identified as a high potential individual and therefore spent two years rotating around a number of departments.  She started in Data Entry and moved quickly to HR, where she focused heavily on recruitment. She spent time working with the International Strategic Director where she focused on helping to drive the business forward in the U.S and Chinese markets. Ceri also worked in Customer Service reviewing business/customer processes and spent eight months helping to improve the company’s direct marketing strategy. She led a number of bespoke marketing campaigns across multiple platforms and managed the development of the online business.

Track record
Having received a broad basic training in a number of dimension of a business operation Ceri has decided to pursue a career as a coach and facilitator. Her understanding of the commercial dynamics of a business and her knowledge of human biology means she is perfectly placed to help executives develop themselves with the pressure at play in modern organisational life. Her experience in the retail sector has attuned her to what impacts company profitability and what does not. Having worked in a variety of departments she also recognises the importance of cross functional integration and the value that is unlocked when this works well.


Ceri holds a First Class Honours Degree in Human Biology (BSc) from Oxford Brookes University.
