Professional Development

PHAB organises a range of events to keep members updated about key issues in education and hosting speakers from OFSTED, the DfE, and other regulatory bodies. We have strong links with local teaching schools, and the Bristol New Heads programme.

In the past couple of years we have hosted:

  • Mary Myatt, author and education adviser, speaking about curriculum design.

  • Steve Munby, Chief Executive of the Centre for British Teachers Education Trust, speaking about leadership.

  • Nigel Owens, international rugby referee, speaking about LGBTQ+ issues and bullying

  • Matthew Syed, journalist author and broadcaster, about leading improvements.

PHAB works closely with the Bristol Primary Teaching School Alliance and Bristol Early Years Teaching Consortium to promote good practice and collaboration across the city and to influence the development of appropriate CPD. For details of courses they offer please click on the images below.
